Larry Strawther – General Manager, Los Al TV
Larry comes to Los Al TV after a 30-year career in Hollywood as a writer-producer. He has written for and/or produced four Top 10 network shows, as well as a few movies. In 1997 he moved to Rossmoor (where his wife Nancy grew up). Once here, he got tired of getting on the freeway and putting on long pants and started the newspaper, Local Sports, which seemingly introduced him to almost everybody in the community. In 2001, he helped start OUR Los Al, a non-profit created to support activities and improve facilities at Los Alamitos High School. Since then, primarily through their event The Taste for Los Al, they have raised over $2 million dollars to support LAHS activities. When the City decided to seek an outside manager for the Los Al TV, Strawther and OUR Los Al submitted a proposal which was accepted, and in October 2015 they took over management of the Los Al TV station.
Conner Brown – Operations Director, Los Al TV
Although only a few years out of Los Alamitos High School, Conner is a familiar figure on the local video scene. During his Junior year, as the managing editor-producer of Griffin News, Brown wrote and produced the segment Teacher Tweets which garnered almost a million hits on YouTube. Already Brown has directed over 25 sporting events and multiple other shows for the station and oversees a crew of 13 high school students. Not only has he produced over 100 shows for Los Al TV, he has also already worked as a crew member on some outside productions such as CBS’ The Late Late Show with James Corden and multiple movie sets, as well as having written and produced his own independent feature length film (still in production). Brown’s most current Los Al TV adventure is being Executive Producer and Co-Writer on The Late Night Talk with Connor Sebo.
John Underwood – Independent Producer
John Underwood is a local producer at Los Alamitos Community TV and has produced over 100 programs across a variety of formats from local news gathering and public service programming to documentary features. He is the creator of several program series at LATV including Backstory, Your Los Al, and City Watch as well as many community based Special Programming features, many of which have earned him numerous public access television awards. He is a past production coordinator for the station and its studio operations, and remains passionately committed to Los Al TV and the idea of community television. Mr. Underwood has also served on the LATV Cable Commission for the past three years.
Steve Clayton is no stranger to local video production. As an independent producer he has directed and produced sports coverage at Long Beach City College, one of the top Community College video programs in the country which earned over 60 local and national awards. In 2005 he co-founded ReFocus, a video production company targeting the needs of corporate, educational, and broadcast clients. Steve has also been on the board of directors for both Long Beach Community television and Los Alamitos Television Corporation.
